Corum just sent me shout-out on this new Tourbillon watch that will be released a few days at Basel 2010. Thus, there will be at least two new tourbillon watches from Corum Watches 20 Dollar Replica this year – this Ti-Bridge Tourbillon, and the Admiral’s Cup Minute Repeater Tourbillon. While I have really only noticed that “Corum key” logo on the Admiral’s Cup models, now it shows up on this new Ti-Bridge, as the top of the cage over what appears to be a flying tourbillon. I must admit that it looks pretty cool. The in-house made movement is very thin in the standard horizontal fashion of the timepiece line. The movement should be made of mostly titanium, and looks to have double barrels (for at least 50-60 hours of power reserve), and of course is manually wound.
Like all Ti-Bridge watches the case is going to be beautifully finished. It is really a piece of art and feels so smooth in the hands. You can see all the different forms of titanium in various polishes. The dial looks like it is a screen being framed by the case. A nice “Corum” logo is engraved into bridge on the movement – I like the slightly restyled logo. Looks pretty sharp next to the key emblem.
The first significant change is that the diameter: The brand new releases quantify 47mm wide and an impressive 18.8mm high. Smartly, however, the lugs are curved and short to enable a snug fit to the wrist. Of the 18.8mm of height, 8mm of this is down to the sapphire crystal alone. This is seemingly no mean accomplishment: obtaining a perfect finish on a Sapphire component of this depth, curvature, and essential consistency is actual obstacle. Corum achieves this unusual effect by beginning with a block of crystal clear and squeezing it to some bubble-like contour, before polishing to absolute clarity.To get the most out of this feature, the designers of this Corum Bubble watches, chose to fit the timepieces using “Op-art” (optical-art) dials. These clever patterns give the feeling of motion, in addition to shadow and depth. Although level, the dials have a degree of existence. There’ll be two Corum Bubble Op-Art watches available at a limited run of 350 pieces each: The Corum Bubble Drop watch comes with a brown PVD-coated case plus a “ripple” effect dial; the Corum Bubble Sphere2 is coated in blue PVD and features an “atom-inspired” pattern on the dial. Both watches utilise Super-LumiNova on the palms. The magnifying sapphire crystal has this affect on the flat dials they appear to be aggressively domed themselves. With this particular design leaping from this watch, it is easier to understand why this crazy contraption has so many lovers the world over. The two watches are fitted with rubber straps topped with leather, with a buckle matching their personal case finishes.
